Worship at Saint Margaret’s

Everything that we do at Saint Margaret’s begins and ends with worship. It is through our common life of worship; our common call to gather in the name of the Risen Lord, that all of our actions and all of our words are given their full life and meaning. It is only through coming to the Lord’s Table and receiving the Blessed Sacrament that we are enabled to go into the world forgiven, changed, transformed, and empowered to do the work of Christ in an increasingly broken world.

The early Christian church centered its life on the regular worship of Christ in word and music. At Saint Margaret’s, our faithful obedience in worship is the primary act which binds us together as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Nursery

Nursery care is available for our 8:15 and 10:30am Sunday services. Our nursery is located in the school wing across from the church office and is staffed by two child care providers. Nursery care is also provided during Sunday School (9:30-10:15am, Sept-May).

We believe that all of God’s children should worship together on Sunday mornings, so we do not separate families into different worship services. We believe that there is power in families being in worship together to give praise to our Risen Savior, and we encourage everyone to attend church together. *Please note that St. Margaret’s does have a “cry room” located in the back of the church if needed. Comfortable seating with wired in sound from the service can help families if needed.

Choirs

Saint Margaret’s Adult Choir

Saint Margaret’s Adult Choir is a group of male and female voices from within the parish who come together to rehearse and participate in the varied liturgies of the church. Music has always been an integral part of the Anglican worship tradition, and the Saint Margaret’s Choir is a vital component of our weekly worship of God. The choir rehearses once a week on Wednesday night, and they gather during the Education hour on Sunday mornings. There are also several special services throughout the year that the choir serves as an active component of the liturgy, including Christmas Eve and Easter Day. For more information on our Adult Choir, please contact our Director of Music, Gavin Craig.

Children’s Choir

Saint Margaret’s children’s choir rehearses weekly, and offers serveral special anthems and other musical offerings throughout the calendar year. Children are a vital part of parish life at Saint Margaret’s, and their active participation in the church’s liturgies is both important and formative. There is nothing that warms the heart quite like the sound of children’s voices raised in worship of the Risen Lord. The children’s choir of Saint Margaret’s offers the opportunity for the children of our parish to actively engage in the worship of the church, to fully participate in its liturgies, and to lift their voices among the angels in praise of the Risen Christ. For more information on our Children’s Choir, please contact our Director of Music, Gavin Craig.
