Becoming a Member

Saint Margaret’s welcomes all to join us for worship on Sunday mornings or at any of our church activities. We believe that active and regular engagement in the sacramental life of the parish is vital for all who follow Jesus. For those interested in making a formal commitment of membership to the Episcopal Church and Saint Margaret’s in particular, we ask for three commitments: regularly receiving the Blessed Sacrament on Sunday mornings, financially supporting the ministries and work of the church, and being actively involved in a ministry of the church such as Bible Study, a prayer group, or a variety of other opportunities designed to engage members in the life of the parish.

These areas of membership have been developed to help support the Christian life that we are all called to live outside of the Church walls, and to forge disciples who follow the teachings of Jesus. The five markings of Christian discipleship which should be taking place in any Christian household are regular attendance in worship, the financial support of the parish, Christian outreach to the community, daily Bible reading and daily prayer. To become a member is to be in pursuit of the life of a disciple, and this pursuit requires commitment and discipline. Through active membership at Saint Margaret’s our hope is to transform lives and to send disciples into the world to build the Kingdom of God.

Any person who is a parishioner in another Episcopal Church who wishes to become a member of Saint Margaret’s may do so by requesting a letter of transfer from their previous parish and submitting a new member parish profile form.
