Christian Education: Youth

St. Margaret’s has a wide variety of classes and activities designed especially for the youth of the parish. Sunday morning education opportunities include an age appropriate middle school class, as well as a confirmation class for high school students. Episcopal Youth Community meets on Sunday afternoons from 4:30 pm to 6 pm during the academic year (September through May), and offers fellowship time, games, and lessons, all revolving around the teachings of Jesus.
Our parish also supports many youth functions outside these normally scheduled events. Happening, a ministry of the diocese, meets twice a year, and offers a transformative experience for high school students. YouthQuake, a program sponsored by Acts 29 Ministries out of Atlanta, is a vibrant, life giving weekend that helps young people truly feel the power of the Holy Spirit in new and real ways.
In addition to these spiritual offerings, the youth perform outreach and mission work throughout the year, including Loaves and Fishes and Samaritans Purse. Supported by parish volunteers and the parents of the youth, St. Margaret’s youth program continues to address the needs of the middle and high school students of our church.
Our desire and prayer is that all of the young people of our parish will encounter Jesus in new and dynamic ways that will help prepare them to live out their callings as full disciples of Christ.
